Alexis didn't make it through to the on air show but we are SOOOO proud of her regardless of that fact!  She is on to bigger and better things than American Idol and we will inform you of her ventures here in the future.  We will also let you know of any local things she is involved in here too.  On behalf of Alexis and our entire family, we thank all RIMC'ers and Rhode Islanders in general that supported her effort.

The farewell party is being hosted by Providence Mayor David Cicilline and Donald King, the executive artistic director of the Providence Black Repertory Company.  The event is scheduled for one this afternoon at the Black Rep theater in downtown Providence.  (See Pictures Below)

I don't think I have to tell you how proud we are as a family, that our relative Alexis Brown is Southern New England's American Idol Winner!  We wish her all the best in her endeavor to make it all the way with American Idol but she is already our hero, win or not.  She has to be the sweetest of persons and she would make a wonderful American Idol.

Alexis' big cousin!  :)

 This is funny but believe it or not, I am getting a lot of questions as to how we are related.  Alexis' Mom Paula and I are first cousins.  Paula's late Dad Rudy Tavares and my Mom Virginia (Tavares) Santos, were brother and sister.  And, that singer David Tavares, that everyone thinks is my brother (we don't mind) is actually my first cousin, he is Paula's brother, Lexy's (as we call her) uncle.  Now you know.  LOL
