Professional Trumpet Player
Eric Bloom is a
trumpet player who has been playing professionally since he was 15. A
graduate of Mt. Hope high school in Bristol, R.I., at 17 years old, he
was chosen as the soloist for the All Eastern jazz band that performed
at Carnegie Hall under the direction of Jon Faddis. Since 2003
Eric has been in the Sultans of Swing, voted by Modern Bride magazine
one of the top wedding bands in the country. After living in New York
for 3 years, Eric moved back to his home state of R.I. in 2008. Since
his return, Eric has been focusing on private teaching and doing
clinics and master classes for high schools. Eric can also be seen
playing around New England with his own groups or with two of the best
big bands, John Allmark Big Band and Kendrick Oliver New Life Jazz
Orchestra. Most recently, Eric has been touring with Diane
Birch, a highly acclaimed
singer-songwriter who released her first album in 2009 on S-Curve
records. In the last year, Eric has done several headlining tours with
DB in the US, Japan, and Europe. In addition, he has done a couple of
month-long tours as the support band for such artists like British pop
sensation James Morrison, US singer Mat Kearny, and Nick Jonas. The
Diane Birch band has been featured on several late-night national T.V.
shows including the Craig Ferguson Show, the Carson Daly Show, Jimmy
Kimmel Show, the David Letterman Show, and the Conan O’Brian Show.
