Hey RIMC'ers
Now THIS is MY kind of weather!!!
LO V I N' it!! :P
I don't know if any of you had the
chance to purchase or listen to
Lionel Richie's last album
Coming Home, 2006 but let me tell
you, Renzi and I have been BLASTIN' it
for 2 days straight now! I know
a lot of you probably think I'm corny
for loving Mr. Richie but just hear me
out, just go to Amazon or CDNow just
to listen to the samples of all the
songs and then tell me you don't want
to buy it! :)
It was produced by Chuckii Booker,
Jermaine Dupri, Dallas Austin, Raphael
Saadiq, Rodney Jerkins and Mr.
Richie himself. The
executive producer is none other than
Antonio "LA" Reid. It
ranges in sound from some old
Commodore 'Zoom' vibes ('Sweet
Vacation') along with some Beyonce
style beats ('Up All Night'),
reggae ('All Around The World'),
and one of my favorites, a haunting
beautiful love song simply entitled,
"I Love You." If I were
with a live band right now, I'd be
doing a cover of the song "Reason
to Believe" it's so 'Lenny
Kravitz meets pop.' :)
I only wish I would have purchased it
sooner!
Don't gimme no flack about Lionel!!
He's like Barry (Manilow that is)
to me!!! They RULE! LOL!
Enjoy your weekend!
Hey, GO SEE BRASS
FORCE this weekend on
Saturday at the Hi Hat!! Tell
them, their "Chaka" sent you! ;)

Artist Interview:

Talking with Peter DuVal Lee
the past week bought me to the
realization that he is just a
really sincere and cool person and
I am happy to have him as an
interview artist for the next two
weeks. Peter will also be in
our lounge next week where you
will get a chance to hear his
wonderful music! He is also
going to be our newest RIMC'er so
look forward to his new webpage on
RIMC soon!
Contemplation marks the
third release from guitarist
Peter Duval Lee in less than
four years. There seems to be no
limitation to his creative juices
at this point. It is also evident
that with each new CD release,
Peter's music keeps getting
better. Contemplation is a mixture
of the foundational formula of
previous CD's and new sounds.
There is more variation in Peter's
soloing - from the cool jazz
guitar sound to bold leads to
guitar synth solos that hint of
Pat Metheny influences. A pleasant
addition to Peter's musical
creative journey is his vocals. As
with the past releases, Peter
plays all guitars, (bass included)
and keyboards. The drums and
percussion are programmed and
there is very little use of midi.
Contemplation is cool, fun and
thoughtful.
